Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers has been named the 2025 WNBA Rookie of the Year. The former UConn star received 70 of 72 first-place votes, making her the seventh Husky to win the award. Bueckers, the No. 1 draft pick, averaged 19.2 points, 5.4 assists, and 3.9 rebounds per game, setting a WNBA single-game rookie scoring record of 44 points against the Los Angeles Sparks. Despite the Wings' losing season, Bueckers' dominant performance secured her the prestigious honor.
