Over 100,000 University of California employees, represented by 21 unions, sued President Trump. The suit alleges Trump is illegally imposing ideological dominance, violating constitutional rights, and endangering jobs by suspending research grants and demanding a $1.2 billion fine from UCLA. The lawsuit claims violations of free speech, due process, and the 10th Amendment. It also alleges the Trump administration is attempting to control UC through financial coercion. A Department of Justice spokesperson declined comment. This is the second suit filed against the Trump administration by UC faculty and workers seeking to reverse grant cuts and block government demands.
