South Sudan repatriates Mexican man deported from US

A Mexican man, J. Jesus Muñoz Gutierrez, deported from the US to South Sudan in May, has returned to Mexico. South Sudanese officials confirmed his departure after a legal battle that saw eight deportees sent to the country. Muñoz stated he felt “kidnapped” by the US, claiming he should have been returned to Mexico. Six other deportees remain in South Sudan, with the South Sudanese government working on their repatriation. The US Department of Homeland Security has yet to comment on Muñoz's account of his deportation.
