300 South Koreans detained at Hyundai plant in US to be released, says Seoul

Following a large-scale immigration raid at a Hyundai plant in Georgia, where over 300 South Korean workers were detained, South Korea announced that negotiations with the US for their release are concluded. Administrative procedures remain before a chartered flight will bring the workers home. The raid, the largest under the Trump administration, involved handcuffed and shackled workers. A senior LG Energy Solution executive traveled to Georgia to expedite the release of its employees and those of its contractors.
