A College of Charleston instructor, Heather Hall, was among 16 people killed in a Lisbon funicular accident. Hall, a special education instructor and Fulbright Scholar, was in Lisbon for a conference. The accident also injured 21 people of various nationalities. The Elevador da Glória funicular derailed and crashed into a building. A preliminary report on the accident is expected soon. Hall's death is mourned by the College community.
