The Paper: Office Spin-off Misses the Mark | JQJO

A new workplace comedy, "The Paper," a spin-off of the US version of "The Office," follows the misadventures of a struggling local newspaper in Ohio. The show features a mix of familiar mockumentary style and comedic characters, but lacks the sharp wit and emotional depth of its predecessor. While some characters, like the eccentric managing editor Esmerelda, shine, the overall tone is considered dated and less impactful. The series explores the challenges of reviving a failing business within the media industry but lacks a truly compelling central character. "The Paper" is currently streaming on various platforms internationally.
