Japanese man becomes oldest person to reach Mount Fuji summit at 102

102-year-old Kokichi Akuzawa has set a new Guinness World Record for being the oldest person to climb Mount Fuji. Despite struggling and nearly giving up halfway, he reached the summit with the encouragement of his daughter, granddaughter, and friends. This is his second record-breaking ascent of the mountain; his first was at age 96. Akuzawa, who overcame health issues in recent years, trained for three months for this climb and credits his success to the support of his climbing companions. He now plans to focus on painting scenes from his final ascent.
