The world's biggest iceberg is breaking up : NPR

The world's largest iceberg, A23a, is rapidly disintegrating in the South Atlantic. Tracked since its 1986 calving from the Filchner-Ronne ice shelf, A23a, once the size of Oahu, has shrunk to roughly the size of Greater London. Scientists say its demise, in warmer waters, is a natural process, not linked to climate change. Despite an unusual journey including grounding twice, its current break-up is considered typical for icebergs. Research on its impact on the surrounding ecosystem continues.
