Mark Volman, founding member of the 1960s pop group The Turtles, died at 78 in Nashville. Known for his distinctive harmonies on hits like "Happy Together," Volman also achieved success with Flo & Eddie, performing with Frank Zappa and contributing background vocals to artists like Bruce Springsteen. Despite a 2020 Lewy body dementia diagnosis, he continued performing on the annual "Happy Together" tour until recently. Volman's career also included teaching music business and writing a memoir, "Happy Forever."
