A funicular in Lisbon, Portugal, derailed, resulting in at least 15 deaths and 18 injuries. The Gloria funicular, a popular tourist attraction, crashed into a building after reportedly hurtling down a hill. Five of the injured are in serious condition, including a child. The cause of the accident is under investigation, and a nationwide day of mourning has been declared. The funicular, opened in 1885, transports around 3 million people annually.
