Dry lightning sparked 22 wildfires across Northern California, burning over 12,000 acres. The largest fire, the 6-5 fire, destroyed structures in the historic Chinese Camp, a Gold Rush town with a significant Chinese immigrant history. Another fire damaged buildings in Vallecito. Evacuations were ordered for several areas, but thankfully, there were no reported injuries or deaths. The fires are burning in remote, difficult-to-access locations.
