Comedian Michael Longfellow and two other cast members were unexpectedly fired from Saturday Night Live after three seasons. Longfellow learned of his dismissal from his agent while at an airport, unlike the typical method of notification. The firings follow SNL's 50th-anniversary celebration and the show's producer, Lorne Michaels, stating he would 'shake things up'. Other cast and writers also departed, including Heidi Gardner and two writers. Longfellow expressed gratitude for his time on the show despite the abrupt and public nature of his firing.
