Flotilla leaves Barcelona in biggest attempt yet to break Israeli blockade of Gaza

A large flotilla of ships, the Global Sumud Flotilla, departed from Barcelona carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza, aiming to break Israel's long-standing blockade. This follows Israel's intensified offensive on Gaza, leading to widespread famine and hunger. The flotilla, comprising around 70 boats and activists from 44 countries, including Greta Thunberg, faces potential interception by Israeli forces. This is the fourth such attempt this year, with previous efforts encountering attacks and detentions. The flotilla aims to deliver vital food, water, and medicine, addressing the urgent humanitarian crisis in Gaza, exacerbated by the ongoing conflict.
