Amanda Seyfried's Shaker Role: Crazy? You Decide! | JQJO

Amanda Seyfried stars in the new film, *The Testament of Ann Lee*, a unique portrayal of the Shaker founder. Director Mona Fastvold chose Seyfried for her strength and ability to portray both kindness and intensity. The film blends music and movement, incorporating Shaker hymns, but isn't a traditional musical or biopic. It's a speculative retelling of Lee's life, focusing on her radical beliefs and pursuit of a utopian community. Seyfried found the role challenging but rewarding, praising the supportive environment on set. The film's low budget ($10 million) and unconventional nature made its creation a significant achievement.
