Charles Bierbauer, a veteran CNN journalist, passed away at 83. His two-decade CNN career included covering the White House, Pentagon, and Supreme Court. He also served as the network's senior White House correspondent, covering Reagan and H.W. Bush's presidencies. Bierbauer won an Emmy and mentored colleagues like Wolf Blitzer. Before CNN, he was an international correspondent for ABC News, covering the Cold War and US-Soviet summits. He later became dean of the University of South Carolina's College of Mass Communications and Information Studies. He's remembered for his impactful journalism and mentorship.
