Box Office Bombshell: Jaws Beats New Releases?

The Labor Day weekend box office was slow. 'Weapons', a horror film, topped the charts with $12.4 million, bringing its total to $250 million globally. A re-release of 'Jaws' surprisingly earned $9.8 million, outperforming new releases like 'Caught Stealing' ($9.5 million) and 'The Roses' ($8 million). 'Caught Stealing', despite positive reviews, underperformed, while 'The Roses', though criticized, received a better audience response. The overall weekend box office was down 19% compared to last year, falling short of the projected $4 billion summer revenue.
