NYC declares Harlem Legionnaires' outbreak over, after 7th death is announced

New York City declared the Harlem Legionnaires' disease outbreak over on Friday. The outbreak, starting in late July, resulted in 114 infections and 7 deaths, with 90 people hospitalized. Health officials identified two cooling towers with matching bacteria, and remediation efforts are complete. No new cases have been reported since August 9th. While the outbreak is officially over, officials urge residents with flu-like symptoms to seek medical attention.
