Las Vegas's Water Crisis: Are YOU Next For a $80 Fine? | JQJO

Las Vegas employs water waste investigators to conserve water in the growing desert city. These investigators patrol neighborhoods, identifying and addressing issues like misaligned sprinklers and over-irrigation. Residents receive warnings, and repeat offenders face fines. The program, running for over 20 years, has significantly reduced water consumption despite population growth. This success is crucial given the severe drought affecting the region and the dwindling water levels in Lake Mead. The initiative includes financial aid for low-income residents and promotes broader water conservation practices.
