Buccaneers cut 449-pound Desmond Watson as NFL dream hits major roadblock

Desmond Watson, the NFL's heaviest player at 464 pounds, was waived by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Despite losing weight to 449 pounds, he didn't meet the team's health and conditioning standards. The Buccaneers didn't feel he was ready to practice and chose not to keep him on the practice squad. Watson, a three-year contract undrafted free agent, is now available to other teams via waivers or free agency. His agent says he's still working towards his NFL dream.
