Netflix won a bidding war for a new TV project from True Detective creator Nic Pizzolatto, starring Matthew McConaughey and Cole Hauser as brothers. Amazon and Apple also competed for the Skydance Sports production, described as having a sports angle. The project reunites McConaughey and Hauser, who previously starred together in Dazed and Confused and have separate projects in development. This new show adds to McConaughey's busy fall, which includes the premiere of his new film at the Toronto Film Festival.
