Ob/gyn group recommends Covid-19 vaccines during pregnancy, another major group to break from CDC

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) continues to recommend COVID-19 vaccines for pregnant and breastfeeding individuals, despite the CDC's recent removal of this recommendation. ACOG cites numerous studies showing the safety and efficacy of the vaccines and the increased risks pregnant women and their babies face from COVID-19 infection. This stance contrasts with recent changes in federal vaccine recommendations, prompting ACOG to reject federal funding and partner with an independent group for vaccine guidance. ACOG, along with other medical organizations, advocates for continued vaccine access for pregnant women due to the elevated risk of severe illness and complications.
