The Detroit Tigers completed a three-game sweep of the Houston Astros with a 7-2 victory, extending their winning streak to seven out of eight games. Dillon Dingler led the Tigers' offense with a triple and a double, scoring twice in a six-run first inning. Framber Valdez, the Astros' pitcher, allowed seven runs in five innings, his season high. The Astros' 31-inning scoreless streak ended with Mauricio Dubón's two-run homer in the fourth. The Tigers now head to Kansas City, while the Astros travel to Baltimore for their next series.
