Walmart recalls potentially radioactive shrimp sold in 13 US states

Walmart recalled three lots of Great Value frozen raw shrimp sold in 13 states due to potential radioactive contamination. The FDA detected Cesium-137, a radioactive isotope, in imported shrimp from Indonesia. While the risk is considered low, the FDA recommends discarding affected products (lot codes 8005540-1, 8005538-1, 8005539-1, best-by 15 March 2027) to minimize long-term exposure to low-level radiation. The contamination was discovered in shipping containers and a sample of breaded shrimp. Walmart is cooperating with the FDA investigation.
