Oregon firefighters are battling a fire in a giant 325-foot-tall Douglas fir tree, one of the tallest non-redwood trees globally. The fire, which started last week east of Coquille, is still burning approximately 280 feet up the tree. Helicopter crews have worked to suppress the flames, but due to safety concerns, ground crews will not climb the tree. The cause is under investigation, and the area is closed to the public.
