5th person dies after Legionnaires’ disease outbreak sickens dozens in New York City

A Legionnaires' disease outbreak in Central Harlem, New York City, has claimed a fifth life, bringing the total number of deaths to five. Dozens have fallen ill since late July, with fourteen currently hospitalized. The bacteria was found in twelve cooling towers across ten buildings, and remediation efforts are now complete. Health officials urge residents and workers in the affected area to seek medical attention if they experience flu-like symptoms.
