U.S. State Department stops medical-humanitarian visas for people from Gaza

The U.S. State Department has suspended all visitor visas for Gaza residents, citing a comprehensive review. This follows claims by a far-right activist about Palestinian refugees entering the U.S. While a small number of medical-humanitarian visas were recently issued, the move has drawn condemnation from pro-Palestinian groups who say it will deny vital medical care to those in need, particularly children. Over 3,800 B1/B2 visas were issued to Palestinian Authority travel document holders in 2025 before the halt. The decision comes amidst the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.
