Over 1.5 million Afghans have returned to Afghanistan this year, mainly due to expulsions from Iran and Pakistan. Iran ordered the departure of undocumented Afghans, while Pakistan rescinded residence permits. Returnees face dire conditions, including a humanitarian crisis, restricted women's rights, and severe lack of aid. International aid has drastically decreased, leading to the closure of numerous health facilities and exacerbating the suffering. The UN and other organizations are calling for increased funding to address the escalating crisis.
