AstraZeneca launched FluMist Home, an at-home delivery option for its FluMist nasal spray flu vaccine. Previously only available at pharmacies, FluMist is now available for online order and home delivery for eligible individuals aged 2-17 (with caregiver administration) and 18-49 (self-administration). The FDA approved this self-administration option in September 2024. While most insurance plans are expected to cover the cost, shipping and handling fees under $10 apply. AstraZeneca hopes this convenient, needle-free option will boost flu vaccination rates, which have been declining.
