Israel in talks with war-torn South Sudan about taking in Gazans

Israel is in talks with South Sudan to potentially resettle Palestinians from Gaza. The discussions, confirmed by multiple sources, aim to address Gaza's post-conflict situation, fulfilling a US vision for population relocation. However, the plan raises human rights concerns, transferring individuals from one war-torn, famine-threatened area to another. Palestinians, rights groups, and much of the international community strongly oppose the proposal, viewing it as a violation of international law. Egypt also opposes the plan, fearing a refugee influx. South Sudan's motivation involves strengthening ties with Israel and potentially gaining favor with the US.
