Mariano Rivera tore his Achilles during Yankees' Old-Timers Game, first disclosed by Roger Clemens

Yankees legend Mariano Rivera tore his Achilles tendon during Saturday's Old-Timers' Game. The injury, sustained while playing center field, will require surgery. Rivera, 55, had planned to offer advice to struggling Yankees closer Devin Williams before the game, but the injury prevented this. This isn't Rivera's first significant injury while playing; he previously tore his ACL in 2013. The injury occurred after Rivera hit a single and appeared to injure himself while fielding a ball.
