Cheryl Orlov, 55, traded her Los Angeles life for Tirana, Albania. After a successful 32-year furniture business, she felt a pull to explore the world. Discovering Albania via a podcast, she researched, visited, and ultimately relocated. She enjoys the affordability (€400/month apartment), culture, and ease of travel from Albania. While making friends proves challenging due to the transient expat community, she feels happier and less stressed than in the US, planning to remain in Albania indefinitely.
