World condemnations mount over Israeli plans to take Gaza City; UN Security Council to meet

Israel's plan to take control of Gaza City, approved by Prime Minister Netanyahu's security cabinet, has drawn widespread international condemnation. The UN and numerous countries, including EU members, criticized the plan, fearing increased violence and humanitarian crises. Concerns were raised about potential violations of international law and the safety of hostages. A UN Security Council meeting was convened to address the situation, though a resolution is unlikely due to anticipated US opposition. The plan involves evacuating Gaza City residents by October 7th, 2025, before a ground offensive. Hostage families protested the plan, arguing it endangers their loved ones and will not achieve the release of hostages.
