A nationwide computer system outage caused hundreds of United Airlines flights to be grounded on Wednesday evening. The FAA issued ground stops for all mainline United flights at major hubs. Passengers reported delays and disruptions on the ground and at gates. United stated safety is their priority and they are working to resolve the issue and get passengers to their destinations. This follows similar major airline system failures in the past, such as Southwest Airlines' 2022 holiday meltdown.
