TPC Southwind's new greens, while maintaining a 12 1/2-foot Stimpmeter reading, are expected to impact scoring in the upcoming tournament. The softer landing zones could make distance control crucial, potentially lowering scores further than last year's 68.95 average. However, the unchanged rough (3 inches) will still punish errant shots, likely encouraging aggressive tee shots.
