Jazz Acquire Niang, Two Picks in Cost-Cutting Trade

The Utah Jazz have acquired former player Georges Niang and two future second-round picks from the Boston Celtics in exchange for rookie RJ Luis Jr. The trade is a cost-cutting move for Boston, allowing them to avoid exceeding the NBA's salary cap. Niang's $8.2 million expiring contract will be absorbed into Utah's existing trade exception. This marks Niang's second trade this offseason and a return to Utah, where he previously played from 2017-2021. The Jazz now have 16 players under contract and are expected to trade Kevin Love.
