Israel to allow entry of goods to Gaza through local merchants

Israel announced it will gradually allow Palestinian merchants to import essential goods into Gaza, aiming to boost humanitarian aid and lessen reliance on international organizations. This follows a cabinet decision to expand aid to Gaza, even as plans for a potential military takeover are underway. The new system involves rigorous security checks on merchants and goods, with all transactions monitored via bank transfers. The daily number of aid trucks is expected to increase. Israel aims to prevent Hamas interference in aid delivery.
