United Airlines pilot declares mayday, flight makes emergency landing at Washington Dulles airport

A United Airlines Boeing 787 flight from Washington Dulles to Munich experienced a suspected left engine failure shortly after takeoff on July 25th. The pilot declared a mayday, and the plane, carrying 219 passengers and 11 crew, safely returned to Dulles. After inspection, the flight was canceled, and United Airlines arranged alternative travel for passengers. No injuries were reported, and other flights were unaffected.
