More than 3,200 Boeing workers to strike after rejecting contract : NPR

Over 3,200 Boeing union workers in Missouri and Illinois will strike starting Monday after rejecting a contract offer from the company. The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers District 837 (IAM) members, who build fighter jets and other defense systems, cited concerns about family security and fair compensation. Boeing stated the rejected offer included a 40% average wage increase and addressed scheduling issues. The strike impacts facilities in St. Louis, St. Charles, and Mascoutah, impacting production of F-15 and F/A-18 fighter jets and other defense technologies. Boeing claims to have a contingency plan in place.
