Russia's Krasheninnikov Volcano erupted for the first time in 600 years, possibly linked to a major earthquake that hit the Far East last week. The eruption, which sent an ash plume 6,000 meters high, has prompted an orange aviation code. No populated areas are threatened by the ash cloud, which is drifting eastward. The earthquake also triggered a tsunami warning and caused another volcano, Klyuchevskoy, to erupt.
