Yankees Upgrade Bullpen in Double Trade | JQJO

The New York Yankees bolstered their bullpen, acquiring RHP David Bednar from the Pittsburgh Pirates and RHP Jake Bird from the Colorado Rockies. In exchange for Bednar, the Yankees sent C/1B Rafael Flores, C Edgleen Perez, and OF Brian Sanchez to Pittsburgh. Colorado received 2B Roc Riggio and LHP Ben Shields from the Yankees. Bednar provides a high-leverage relief option, while the trade cost the Yankees minor league prospects, with Flores considered the key return for the Pirates.
