UnitedHealth Group didn't just miss earnings, it did something far worse

UnitedHealth Group (UHG), America's largest healthcare company, reported disastrous financial results for the second consecutive quarter, revealing deep-seated organizational problems. Following the April murder of an executive and the subsequent resignation of CEO Andrew Witty, the company faces Department of Justice investigations into potential Medicare fraud. The stock has plummeted, losing over half its value. Returning CEO Stephen Hemsley acknowledged widespread issues requiring extensive changes to leadership, culture, and practices. He anticipates slow profit growth, projecting a significant turnaround only by 2027.
