The Toronto Blue Jays designated reliever Chad Green for assignment after acquiring Seranthony Domínguez. Green, 34, has struggled this season with a 5.56 ERA and 14 home runs allowed, the most among major league relievers. His high salary ($10.5MM) and inconsistent performance led to the decision. The Jays, currently first in the AL East, are bolstering their bullpen ahead of the trade deadline. Green may be traded, but his high salary could hinder any deal; otherwise, he'll likely be released.
