In 1st, entire Arab League condemns Oct. 7, urges Hamas to disarm, at 2-state solution confab

Arab and Muslim nations, including Saudi Arabia and Egypt, issued a joint declaration condemning Hamas's October 7 attack on Israel. The declaration, supported by the Arab League and EU, calls for Hamas's disarmament, relinquishing control of Gaza, and the release of hostages. It proposes a phased plan for a demilitarized Palestinian state coexisting with Israel, a two-state solution opposed by Israel and the US. The declaration also condemns Israeli actions in Gaza and calls for international involvement in stabilizing the region after the conflict. France and Saudi Arabia spearheaded the declaration, which includes pledges for regional integration but stops short of explicitly promising full diplomatic ties with Israel.
