Flock of birds nearly cause Spanish F-18 to crash on crowded beach during airshow

A Spanish Air Force EF-18 Hornet fighter jet narrowly avoided crashing into the sea during the Gijón Air Festival in Spain after performing an evasive maneuver to avoid a flock of birds. Videos show the jet emitting black smoke and turning upside down before recovering. The Air Force confirmed the maneuver was a standard procedure to ensure pilot and public safety. This incident follows a similar event last month involving a Eurofighter Typhoon and a seagull. The Gijón festival, the largest ever, attracted over 300,000 attendees.
