Academy Award-nominated writer Celine Song is set to pen the sequel to the 1997 rom-com "My Best Friend's Wedding." Sony Pictures is developing the project, which is in early stages. Song's recent successes with "Past Lives" and "Materialists" make her a strong choice. While a director and cast haven't been announced, Dermot Mulroney, who starred in the original, has acknowledged the project's existence. This sequel marks another entry in the resurgence of classic film reboots.
