Why aiming for 7,000 steps might be your best goal

A new study published in The Lancet Public Health reveals that walking 7,000 steps daily offers similar health benefits to the commonly recommended 10,000 steps. Researchers found a 47% reduction in premature death risk at 7,000 steps, with diminishing returns beyond that. Even increasing steps from 2,000 to 4,000 provides significant health improvements. The study, encompassing data from over 10 countries, suggests focusing on consistent progress rather than striving for an arbitrary daily step goal.
