Thai and Cambodian leaders hold ceasefire talks in Malaysia

Thai and Cambodian leaders initiated ceasefire talks in Malaysia, mediated by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, to address deadly border clashes that have lasted five days and resulted in at least 35 deaths and over 260,000 displaced people. Both sides blame each other for initiating the conflict. Despite ongoing fighting reported Monday, Anwar expressed hope for an immediate ceasefire. International pressure, including from the U.S. and Pope Francis, mounts as the conflict escalates, disrupting trade and causing widespread displacement. ASEAN urged both nations to find a peaceful resolution.
