Starfleet Academy: New Trek Series Focuses on Gen Z Cadets | JQJO

Paramount+'s new Star Trek series, Starfleet Academy, focuses on a Gen Z cast of cadets at Starfleet Academy. The live-action show, already renewed for a second season, emphasizes personal growth, romance, and friendship, a departure from previous, more military-focused iterations. Holly Hunter and Paul Giamatti star alongside a young cast. The show premieres in early 2026 and is considered Paramount+'s best hope for the franchise's future following recent cancellations and a film flop. The series also features Robert Picardo and Tatiana Maslany in recurring roles.
