Six people, including a child, were killed and 20 wounded in a gun and grenade attack on a court building in Zahedan, southeastern Iran. State TV reported that security forces killed three attackers during the clash. The semiofficial Tasnim news agency blamed the Jaish al-Adl militant group, known for seeking independence for the region. The attack occurred in Sistan and Baluchestan province, an area with a history of conflict between Sunni residents and the Shiite government.
