Eight men, including 35-year-old Syrian-American Hosam Saraya from Oklahoma, were executed in Syria during sectarian violence. A video of the execution, showing masked gunmen, circulated online. The killings occurred on July 17th in Suwayda province, amid clashes between Druze and Bedouin tribes. Saraya's family members were also among the victims. The US State Department confirmed the death of the American citizen and is providing consular assistance. The Syrian government denies responsibility, claiming those responsible will face justice.
